The Okanagan valley is well known for the natural clay formations that have been formed by wind and rain erosion. They are quite fragile and prone to sudden breakage if tamper with.

In the fall of 2011 I went out one evening with my stepson Cory with hopes that we could both be fortunate and graced the colorful paintbrush in the hands of the light gods.

We set up to shoot from a few locations and had quite a challenging time shooting around pedestrians and curious onlookers. After a bit of fine tuning we settled in on a great location with a good angle of the sky, lake and hoo doos. We set up our gear and just had to wait for the show. The light got better and better by the moment and we were both fortunate to come way with a great image.

For me, this is one of those special images that can never be repeated. Not because of the color in the sky but because of the time I got to spend with Cory.
